Don't believe architecture has to speak too much. It should remain silent and let nature in the guise of sunlight and wind.




我想创造令人们感动的空间，不论是幢房屋、一座美术馆或者任何物件都好。就像是坐在草地上任由思绪游走一般，感受到真正的快乐。这才是我一直以来所追求并努力着的事。








Hope to achieve simplicity, but I also hope to achieve depth … I believe it is important that architecture should be a space where you feel spiritually empowered.

When you look at Japanese traditional architecture, you have to look at Japanese culture and its relationship with nature. You can actually live in a harmonious, close contact with nature — this very unique to Japan.




欣赏日式传统建筑时，必须连同日本文化和他们与大自然的关联性一起看，那么就能够与大自然连结并和谐地共存，这是日本相当独一无二的元素。







我喜欢废墟残骸，因为尽管这些残留下来的元件并非完整的设计，却是建筑背后清晰的想法、不加修饰的结构，以及建筑的精神。

Hope to achieve simplicity, but I also hope to achieve depth … I believe it is important that architecture should be a space where you feel spiritually empowered.




我想要创造出其他人做不到的── 一座非常宁静的建筑。……我想让建筑拥有一丝微妙的感性。我想创造出只有日本人才能达成的事物。







To create architecture is to express characteristic aspects of the real world such as nature, history, tradition and society, in a spatial structure, on the basis of a clear, transparent logic.
